2005 ECACHL Tournament

The 2005 ECACHL Tournament took place between March 4, 2005 and March 19, 2005 for the Men's Division I league and between March 4, 2005 and March 13, 2005 for the Women's Division I league.

[edit] Men's Tournament
The regular season champions were the Cornell Big Red. Along with Harvard, Colgate, and Vermont, Cornell recieved a first round bye.
The seeds for the men's tournament were:

The ECAC Championships took place March 18 and 19 at Pepsi Arena in Albany, New York. Among the four quarterfinal winners, the highest seed faced the lowest seed in the first game, and the other two teams will faced off in the second game, both on March 18th.

The semifinal losers, Colgate and Vermont, met in the Third Place game on March 19th.

For the third time in four years, Harvard and Cornell met in the ECAC Championship game. 8,637 viewed a dominating defensive performance by the Big Red as Cornell won their eleventh ECAC title, their second in three years. Cornell defenseman Charlie Cook, who scored two power-play goals in the championship, was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player. Cornell was awarded the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
