The 2005 CHA Tournament took place March 11-13, 2005 at the IRA Civic Center in Grand Rapids, Minnesota for the Men's Division I league. The Women's Division I league tournament took place March 12 and 13 at Mercyhurst Ice Center in Erie, Pennsylvania.

The CHA Championship Game was played on March 13. The Bemidji State Beavers earned their first ever Division I NCAA Tournament bid, defeating the Alabama-Huntsville Chargers 3-0 in front of a nominally home-ice crowd. The Beavers did not allow a single goal during the tournament.
