The 2005 Atlantic Hockey Tournament took place between March 8 and March 19, 2005.
The regular season champions were the Quinnipiac Bobcats. They won the right to play the winner of the play-in game between the two lowest seeds.

On March 18, the quarterfinal winners played a single-elimination round at the home rink of the highest remaining seed. The highest remaining seed played at home against the lowest remaining seed, and the second-highest seed played against the second-lowest.

Finals[]
On March 19, the two semifinal winners competed in the Atlantic Hockey Championship game at the home rink of the higher seed. Mercyhurst upset the favored Quinnipiac Bobcats when Scott Champagne scored 4:56 into the overtime period to give the Lakers the win, their third Atlantic Hockey championship, and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Champagne was named tournament MVP.
