The 2004 Midwest Regional of the NCAA Tournament took place on March 27 and 28, 2004, at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The regional was hosted by Western Michigan University.

The participants were:

Minnesota was the WCHA champion. Minnesota-Duluth, Michigan State, and Notre Dame all recieved at-large bids to the NCAA Tournament.

Final Edit

The semifinal winners, Minnesota and Minnesota-Duluth, met on March 28. The Bulldogs defeated their in-state rivals for the fifth time on the season, taking a 3-1 victory in front of 3,206. Netminder Isaac Reichsmuth made 22 saves to pace Minnesota-Duluth to victory. The Bulldogs advanced to the 2004 Frozen Four in Boston, Massachusetts.
