This is the third and final season of the Continental Elite Hockey League.

Membership Changes[]

  • The Youngstown Phantom Rockets and the Dayton Gems withdrew
  • The Toledo IceDiggers were renamed the Toledo Wolfpack along with changing rinks from the Ice Zone Arena in Boardman, Ohio to the Toledo Ice House in Toledo
  • The New Jersey Metro Moose and Brighton, Michigan based Michigan Stars joined the league
  • The Louisville Storm were announced as joining the league but had to withdraw when the facility they were planning on playing in would not be ready for the team in time.  The Massilon and Port Huron teams that deferred on joining until 2003-04 do not come to fruition
