This is the 1998 NCAA Division II Men's Ice Hockey Tournament. This is the thirteen edition of the tournament which dates back to 1978. There was no tournament from 1985 to 1992.
The tournament consisted of two teams meeting in a best-of-three series between the Bemidji State Beavers and the Alabama-Huntsville Chargers. Bemidji State was playing in the Men's Division III Northern Collegiate Hockey Association for the season and Alabama-Huntsville was playing as a Division II Independent.
The series was a rematch of the 1994, 1996, and 1997 finals.
The series was hosted by the Chargers on March 13th and 14th, 1998. The Chargers defeated the Beavers 6-2 and 5-2 to claim the championship.
