The 1998–99 CHL season was the 7th season of the Central Hockey League (CHL).
Franchise changes[]
- The Nashville Ice Flyers announced a relocation to Albany, Georgia when the NHL's Nashville Predators start play. The franchise never came to fruition in Albany.
- The San Antonio Iguanas return to the league after the San Antonio Dragons of the IHL folded
- The Topeka Scarecrows are added to the league as an expansion team
