In the 1995-96 NHL season, 93 hat tricks were scored in the 1,066-game regular season and 7 were scored in the 86 games of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Overall, the Pittsburgh Penguins led all teams in hat tricks with 11 and Mario Lemieux led all skaters with 7.
