Friday, April 8, 1983 at Dauphin
The Dauphin Kings whipped The Pas Huskies 9-1 in the first game of a best-of-five playoff series for the Manitoba Junior ‘A’ Hockey Championship. Kevin Smith had two goals for the Kings of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. Max Bell, Perry Nakonechny, Mike Cory, Barry Trotz, Kevin Malchuk, Dave Farquhar, and Lance Jervis rounded out the Kings' scoring. Vernon Campbell got the lone goal for the Huskies of the Norman Junior Hockey League.

Saturday, April 9, 1983 at Dauphin
Two unanswered third-period goals pushed Dauphin to a 8-6 victory. Kevin Malchuk scored twice for Dauphin with Larry Greening, Brian Glasman, Brent Sapergia, Kevin Smith, Ray Mayer, and Barry Trotz adding singles. Vernon Campbell had three Huskies' goals. Brian Bird, Randy Roach and Dick Cudmore completed scoring.

Sunday, April 10, 1983 at Dauphin
Sparked by the two-goal efforts of Barry Trotz and Brent Sapergia, the Dauphin Kings hammered The Pas Huskies 11-1 to advance to western semifinals of the Centennial Cup playoffs. The Kings took care of The Pas Huskies in three straight games to claim the Manitoba Junior ‘A’ Hockey Championship and Turnbull Cup. Dauphin, also got goals from Perry Nakonechny, Mike Cory, Kevin Malchuk, Larry Greening, Max Bell, Merv Fontaine and Lyall Cook. Ken Mayer spoiled goaltender Allan Luke's shutout bid with only 41 seconds remaining, scoring on a Huskies' powerplay.
