This is the 1983-84 Central Collegiate Hockey Association season.  This was the league's thirteenth season.

Membership changesEdit

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish dropped from the league as the program was lowered to a club sport at the university.  The school would return to the varsity level for 1984-85 and would be a Division I Independent until rejoining the CCHA in 1992.

  • defeated Michigan State 2 to 1 in the semifinals
  • defeated Minnesota-Duluth 5 to 4 in quadruple overtime in the National Championship Game
