This is the 1978 tournament for the University Cup, the CIAU Canadian university championship. It was played at Moncton, New Brunswick and was hosted by the University of Moncton. This tournament introduced the 6-team, two pool format. All five conference champions and the host team qualified. This format would remain in use through the 1983 tournament.
