Memorial Cup Championship Canada Junior A Hockey Champions
After winning the MJHL Championship, and qualifying for the Memorial Cup playoffs, the Braves were allowed 4 pick-ups (3 skaters and 1 reserve goaltender). The Braves selected Transcona Rangers Don Atamanchuk, and St. Boniface Canadiens Ted Green, Howie Hughes, and goalie Paul Sexsmith. In the western series, Sexsmith could only play if Wakely was injured and also Moroz would dress as backup unless injured. After winning the Abbott Cup, Western Canada Junior A Championship, the Braves were allowed 3 more pick-ups. They selected reserve goalie Sexsmith, and two more of his St. Boniface Canadiens teammates Jerry Kruk and John Rodger.
Atamanchuk replaced the injured LeBlanc on the first line. Hughes replaced King on the second unit. King became 10th forward. Green was the team's number 2 defenseman. LeBlanc returned for game 3 of the western final, Atamanchuk was moved to second unit. The second round of pickups were reserve players. Besides LeBlanc, the Braves stayed basically injury free, King replaced Brunel, and Kruk for Angers for a game.
