This is the 1958-59 season of the Valley Intermediate Hockey League:

Windsor Maple Leafs 11-3-0-26 123- 70
Aldershot Black Watch 7-7-0-18 86- 77
Wolfville Falcons 6-7-1-16 72- 93
Kentville Wildcats 5-9-0-10 67-100
Acadia Axemen 2-5-1-10 40- 48

Acadia was awarded the last playoff spot by the league because Kentville had used a disputed goaltender. Windsor had beaten Acadia twice in the semi final series when Kentville was granted an appeal hearing by the Maritime Amateur Hockey Association (MAHA).

The MAHA ruled that Kentville and Acadia had to play a sudden-death game for the playoff spot. Acadia refused. Windsor's two wins over Acadia were voided and the series restarted against Kentville.
