This is the 1956-57 season of the Ottawa Junior Canadiens:

They were the Montreal Junior Canadiens, a Junior A team, that was moved to Ottawa from Montreal after the 1955-56 season. The reason for the move was the much better attendance figures in Ottawa over Montreal in 1955-56.

The team had no league to play in, as the Quebec Junior Hockey League had folded in 1955. Instead it played against minor pro teams in the Quebec Hockey League, senior teams in the Eastern Ontario League, and Junior A teams in the Ontario Hockey Association. All these games counted for their opponents in their respective league standings. THe games against the Junior A teams also counted for the Laurier Cup.

The home games against the minor pro and junior leagues were played in Ottawa. The home games against the senior teams were played in Verdun, Quebec.

There were also some other exhibition games played by the Junior Canadiens, most notably against some National Hockey League teams.

The Junior Canadiens received a bye into the 1956-57 Eastern Canada Memorial Cup Playoffs. They went on to win the Eastern final and advance to the 1956-57 Memorial Cup Final which they lost to the Flin Flon Bombers.
