This is the 1951-52 season of the Western International Hockey League:
|Regular Season||GP||W||L||T||GF||GA||Pct %|
|Trail Smoke Eaters||47||24||21||2||232||200||.532|
|Nelson Maple Leafs||47||21||24||2||184||196||.468|
Note: The Spokane Flyers were an American team and therefore not eligible for the Allan Cup. A series was played between the first place Flyers and second place Trail for the League Championship. No matter who won that series Trail would have advanced to play against the winner of the other series - for a spot in the Allan Cup playoffs. Spokane could advance to the 1951-52 United States National Senior Championship.

Note: The Flyers disbanded on March 7 rather than wait to play for the United States national championship. The leagues eligible for that title - the Eastern Hockey League and the International Hockey League - would not finish their seasons until the beginning of April. The Flyers could not keep the team going for that month.
