This is the 1945-46 season of the Southern Alberta Junior League:
It was the first season of the league. It was set up to start rebuilding the talent and interest in junior hockey in southern Alberta. For years the province had been dominated by the teams from the Edmonton City Junior League.

There were no league playoffs. The Ramblers, Miners, and Royals all went on to the 1945-46 Alberta Junior Playoffs. They had all registered with the Alberta Amateur Hockey Association separately from the league.
