West Kootenay League: Trail Smoke Eaters
Independent team[]
The Pacific Coast Hockey League (PCHL) was under the Amateur Hockey Association of the United States.
Both the Vancouver Canucks and the New Westminster Royals were playing in the PCHL and were also members of the British Columbia Amateur Hockey Association. Both teams wanted to challenge for the Allan Cup. Vancouver had obligations to play in the PCHL's playoffs but New Westminster finished out of the playoffs. They challenged Trail for the provincial title.
The Vancuver Canucks eventually won the PCHL title and the 1945-46 United States National Senior Championship.
