Ronald Ryan (born July 11, 1938 in Welland, Ontario) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey coach and executive. He is currently a consultant for the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League (NHL). Ryan coached the New England Whalers of the World Hockey Association (WHA) for two seasons, 1973–74 and 1974–75, and was the team's general manager from December 1975 to May 1977. He joined the Flyers in 1988 as an executive vice president and was named the chief operating officer of the team in 1991. He was named the team's president in 2003 and held that position for three years until his retirement.
